Important: 16 Yard Skip — Light Waste Only

The 16 yard Jumbo Skip is designed for large volumes of light waste only. Heavy materials such as rubble, bricks, soil, concrete, and tiles must not be placed in a 16 yard skip. For heavy construction waste, we recommend the 8 yard Maxi Skip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put soil and rubble in a skip?+
Yes, soil, rubble, bricks, and concrete can go in 2, 4, and 8 yard skips. However, the 16 yard Jumbo Skip is for light waste only — no heavy materials like rubble, soil, or concrete.
Can I put a fridge or washing machine in a skip?+
Electrical items (known as WEEE) can be placed in a skip, but a small additional charge may apply. Let us know when booking so we can account for it. Alternatively, your local council may offer free electrical item collection.
What happens if I put prohibited items in a skip?+
If we find prohibited items during collection, we may need to charge extra for specialist disposal or refuse to collect until the items are removed. This is because hazardous materials require licensed waste processing. If in doubt, call us on 0113 534 5441 before loading.
Can I fill the skip above the top?+
No, waste must not exceed the top of the skip. Overfilled skips are a safety hazard and cannot be legally transported on public roads. If you think you'll have more waste than the skip can hold, consider upgrading to a larger skip size.
